I understand, but here's a scenario for you:

Actual (hypothetical) outcome of tie-breaking game
Yale 66
Columbia 62

(Hypothetical) tiebreaking entries

Asia Yale 70 Columbia 66
BRF Yale 66 Columbia 67

The way Jake's system works, BRF would win the tiebreaker despite the fact that a) he got the outcome of the game wrong, and b) Asia also managed to predict the exact margin of victory.

I think there needs to be a "Price is Right" modification to the tiebreaking system. They consider the winning bid as the bid closest to the actual price without going over. Similarly here, perhaps the "winning" tiebreaking score should be within certain parameters (at the very least, the ability to have predicted which team would have actually won the game).

Just my $.02 (actually, at this point more like $1.98)....
