It just seems that the WWF is turning into 1998-1999 era WCW, with the same gimmicks, most of the same wrestlers and the same problems. Smackdown this week was appalling...there is a complete lack of heat for Mr. Perfect but they're still putting him out there rather than giving someone else a go (the list goes on and on- Justin Credible, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, someone from Ohio Valley, and so on)...and Goldust has similarly failed to ignite much of anything from the crowd. They realised the mistake they'd made with Kronik, why not these guys?
The main problem they have at the moment is they already used the NWO gimmick a few months ago with the Alliance thing. So they can't do that again so soon, which is why the NWO is turning into a damp squib. Hall is the only one of them who's done any wrestling so far, and they just aren't scary. They've made them a stable, not the massive force they were in WCW (they just about took over the company, for chrissakes), and in a few weeks, unless there's a big big surprise at Wrestlemania, no-one will give a damn about them.
Rather than spending all that money on them, he should have bought Goldberg, who is a genuinely scary-looking individual, and Scott Steiner, who is allegedly a proper tough guy. Hogan, Hall and Nash were great six years ago, but who wants to see old storylines just rehashed again and again? Does anyone else just think it's a little tired?
