Dear Katie,

You need to get a pregnancy test before you do anything else. Please look up a pregnancy center near you at this site:

http://www.optionline.org/advantage.asp

You can also call them at this number:

1-800-395-HELP

You may be late for other reasons, and you need to know for sure what's what.

An abortion may sound like the only way out - but that's really not the case.

If your boyfriend is already going to college here soon, his parent's are not going to kick him out - I know parents say those things, but it's very rare that it actually happens. I also don't think your parents are going to throw you out either. They love you more than you know - of course they will be upset and all - but that's just because they love you so much.

An abortion is a PERMANENT answer to a TEMPORARY issue. I urge you to consider other options - adoption is a wonderful alternative. I just know many women that have had abortions and it's something that affects you your entire life. At 16 it's hard to imagine where you'll be a month from now, let alone 10 years from now.

Hang in there, make arrangements to go to the pregnancy center you find online and go - there are wonderful ladies there that will help you. They can even help you talk to your parents.

Hugs,
Kris
