... the boy who lived
impossible is nothing
Harry was right there beside Remus as he plunged behind the veil, he caught a breif glimpse of his friends, silhouted in the door way. The girl, Paikea as grinning at him in a very odd fasion, he had never seen her look like that before and it un-nerved him but there was no helping in now. He had invited her along despite her being a Slytherin because she had assured him she could help, and she had afterall, she had shown them the easiest and quickest route to the Department of Mysteries but looking at her now he had a sudden feeling like he had made a mistake in trusting her and even as he slipped through the tattered curtain that divided him from Sirius he felt his scar sear with an undeniable pain that evapourated as he clung to Remus and face what was behind that viel.
If only he'd known who it was Paikea was informing about their wear abouts at that very moment. Though I doubt he would have cared, as soon as that cold of the veil world enveloped him all he could think of was Sirius. And there he was. Harry's feet were clinging onto the real world beside Remus' but the rest of him no longer knew his feet even existed back there, in the swirling grey matter that was bursting around them all he knew was that Sirius was very near. He began to slash wildly at the mist, it's very presence hindering him and aggravating his temper as it stood - his final barrier. And then...then he heard something whispering in his ear and turned his head so sharply he crooked his neck, but there was no pain. No pain any more. Because Sirius had arrived. Harry would never recall what it was Sirius had whispered to him, all he remembered was that it had soothed his soul to the very core. Sirius was haggard and ragged looking, his fae was drawn and his skin grey as a ghost, the glee at finding him evapourated in an instant as Harry saw the pain in his Godfather's eyes, the haunted look he knew lingered in his own vivid green eyes and Remus' too. Without thinking he lunged for Sirius' hand and almost toppled right into the viel world but he managed to hang on.
"Lupin! Lupin! Grab his other hand, this is it!"
Harry's voice was distant but the delight was undeniable. He couldn't explain why he knew this was what he had to do, perhaps Remus knew as well. But as he finally felt his Godfathers ghostly hand in his own, he sighed, a deep sigh that seemed to realease all of the fears he had pent up in him ever since the day Sirius had drifted behind the viel. Finally they would save him and Harry would no longer be alone. Now all they had to do....was pull.
