Subject: DESPERATE NEED

The public convenience at the busstand or public hospital washroom is a nightmare in Kerala. Public ever, never bothered about the source of fouling smell odour. They think, that is their fate. Clean toilets are only in their dreams. The toilets are strained with yellow stuff and never thought of flushing. These toilets are mostly in dilapidated part of the building. Sometimes it is very unsafe to go there and anything can happen at anytime including slippery. Readers may think this is wrong subject to discuss, but clean toilets are a part of our health.

Most of these public convenience were built when there were fewer people and not taken into consideration of increase in users. I wish all our MLAs to visit these places and have an undersand the necessity of a clean environment for public. Kerala is in desperate need for funds for keeping neat washrooms in public places. Flow of devoutees from neighbouring states to Sabari Mala also creating sanitary problem.

This is an urgent matter and I ask Kerala Government to look into it.
