Chelmina watched the other girls attempt the exercise. She hadn't worked with air very much before, but she felt that it was probably one of her strengths. She looked at the assortment of objects, and decided that she'd better leave the pots alone... She had this vision that something could easily go wrong if she used one of them. At that moment, another novice dropped a pot on the floor. Chelly decided to stick with one of the coloured balls, as it seemed to be the safest of the objects. She thought of what Kaydn had said about surrounding the object with air weaves, and began to channel a flow of air around the ball. It was heavier than she thought, and at first it wouldn't move at all. She moved the air weave closer to the ball, and slowly began to lift it. The ball rose into the air. Chelmina smiled at her achievement, and in doing so, lost her concentration. The ball suddenly plummeted towards the ground. Chelly reached out and grabbed it with her hand before it landed. "Channeling doesn't have to be the solution to every problem," she muttered to herself. She sighed, and decided to try it again.
