Sorry it took so long for a response! NY (along with the entire Tri-state area) is in the midst of another snow storm so I had the chance to sit down and relisten to "So I Can't Help But Feel Afraid" and write down the basic keyboard parts from it to help you and your band out.

A little background on the song:

I remember initially coming up with it on a train ride from Long Island into the city - the beginning lyrics ("She's coming out of the fire...")- and it just dawned on me that it would be cool to write a song about an abusive relationship that results in the victim turning the tables on the abuser and literally aiming to physically harm the abuser. It's one of my least favorite *recordings* from _P2P_ because I'm unhappy with some of the guitar sounds during the chorus, but I like the lyrics, think the chorus is catchy, and like the 80s-style Genesis keyboard/bass/guitar interlude. Anyway, here's the main keyboard parts. I hope it helps - let me know if anything is unclear:

Main Keyboard Riff/beginning:
C# A F# A E A F# D - - - -
(She's coming out of the fire...)

Verses (chords):
C# E D - - -
A A A - - -
F# F# F# - - -
(She's coming out of the fire...)

Chorus (chords):
E - - - - - - - -
G# - - - - - - - -
B - - - - - - - -
"Take it back, if I could take it back, I'd take back

D - - - - - - - -
F# - - - - - - - -
A - - - - - - - -
"everything I never gave to you"

E - - - - - - - -
G# - - - - - - - -
B - - - - - - - -
"Take it back, if I could take it back, I'd make sure

D - - - - - - - -
F# - - - - - - - -
A - - - - - - - -
"everything I never said

E - - - - - - - - - - F#
G# - - - - - - - - - - A
B - - - - - - - - - - C#
"everything I never said was true...trust me it was

(keyboard/bass/gtr solo interlude)
F# (single note simply held on the recorded version)
true

E (single note held)

As you can see, this is a very simple song to play on the keyboards so take whatever liberties you'd like. Thanks again for expressing interest in playing it - I hope I get to hear it one day!

Kevin
