What a cool subject, she is indeed a bitch from frikken hell.
I hate Sheryl Crowe for silently contributing to the deaths of two brilliant California artists - Kevin Gilbert and Leaving Las Vegas author John O'Brien.
Here are notes from a conversation I had with someone who was intimately familiar with SC's relationship with Kevin Gilbert.
Joel: Hi, I hope you dont mind the intrusion, can I ask you two Kevin Gilbert questions? I read a post on a guest book somewhere from you ..

Joel: I just am really curious about these 2 issues ....

SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: kev wrote most of her music and she screwed him out of credit / cash. she denys most of it. it was his creation. along with the others i guess.

Joel: All of my instincts about him point to suicide.
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: I went to a medium once... I had a really hard time with it all... i believe I spoke to him.
Joel: Oh, I mean fake, as in, making it look like he died during sex, but really didn't
Joel: I guess the coroners report would explain the details.
Joel: ... one of Cintra's stories talked about that kind of experience.
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: ah.... well. i do think he was on something or drinking... but ... they found him alone. in a skirt.. with a thing over his face. that is the story I was told.
Joel: Jeezes .....
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: I saw him after they broke up. he seemed like he was feeling great. was off drugs.. excited about life. it was good to see. that was the last time I saw him.
Joel: Thats good .....
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: I spoke to him after that .. but never got to see him. two days before he tried to see me.. but i said no for some stupid reason.
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: two days before he passed that is
Joel: my gosh .....
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: my old boyfriend was in Kaviar and came over to tell me.
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: I thought he was just being mean.
Joel: Sad day In LA ....
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: yeah
Joel: Shaming of the true is so incredible .... especially the last track .. he is saying goodbye.
Joel: It seems.
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: It amazes me that after so much time has passed... people are still interested in him.
Joel: death does that.
SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: there is a song called home on a toy matine cd. ever heard that one?

SOME CHICK WHO KNEW KEVIN: talking about how he hopes his grandparents save a place for him beside them.... we always go "home"

Joel: indeed.....he is a death conscious artist, and I think suicidal, but I'll never know .... he means alot to me.
Joel: He reminds me alot of Roger Waters. I think he was inspired by him in some ways.

I don't know exactly. I went to the memorial. that I don't know. I was a secret person in his life. I don't know his family or many friends. I was around for 5 years but not all the time. we alwyas had other things going on if you know what I mean. I wish I did know.
