[the mare swivels herself so she is facing her blue friend, and gently whuffles in her robes. seeking blue sugar was her mission, and by golly, she would not fail! she would not give in to the temptation of quitting! never would she fall to the folds of this peculiar robe! she would never-! oh... she had some in her hand. snorting in what could be embarrassment, the mare quickly lips up the sugar and returns to her hungry quest]

}the faerie, giggling at the mare's whiskery nose, produced some more lumps of the tasty treat and held them out. after a moments thought, she puts them back. reaching behind her, she deftly unties the deep blue sarong that graces her shoulders and ties it between two branches of a small tree. sugar cubes reappear by small handfuls and are delicately placed in the gauzy material. she steps back and spreads metallic wings, taking gracefully to the air. a few careful flutters and she alights in the tree, as at home in the canopy as she was in the water{
