Stolen stud dog has been found worn out by sex

A prize dog that was stolen by thieves for breeding has been found - exhausted by too much sex.

Monty the English Bull Terrier has lost weight and was tired out when he was found.

Owner David MacKay has taken Monty to a vet and is hoping he makes a full recovery at home in Lanarkshire.

Mr MacKay, 31, from Larkhall is delighted to be reunited with Monty, but added: "We're hoping he'll snap out of it soon."

He'd put Monty into kennels while he and his girlfriend Margaret went on holiday, the Daily Record reports.

Thieves broke into the kennels in Falkirk through a skylight to steal the dog.

Police thought he'd been stolen to order - to use for fighting because of his breed - but when he was found five days later, vets decided he'd been used to mate.

A vet with the Scottish Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals said: "Their temperaments change when they're bred for the first time and Monty is out of character. He is listless yet restless and is constantly looking for other dogs."
