'Dead end' cemetery road sign to go

A sign outside an Illinois cemetery that says 'Dead End' is due to be removed because nearby residents think it's in bad taste.

The sign has warned motorists not to cut through the cemetery in Rockton for 25 years.

Cemetery officials say increasing numbers of nearby residents are complaining about the sign.

Head of the cemetery board, Louise Trull, says the double-meaning of the sign could also be ''hurtful'' to people coming to bury a loved one.

Officials with the local council have reportedly agreed the sign should come down.

The man who first put the sign up says he only meant to warn drivers to slow down so they wouldn't end up in a nearby river.
