That's what I mean, Hap. I know several pics are not what they appear.... but there is no defence for some, even to me. Yes, there is a lot of paint in that chute, but there is a lot of blood as well. It's obvious to me that the blood is from the horse pictured, but how many others would realize that? The pic of the horse in pain looks terrible, especially if it didn't occur to you that his droopy ears were probably frostbitten. I can't and won't defend the wild horse race or steer tripping. IMO, both events should be banned (Canadian events do not allow steer tripping). Varmit is right.... those photos were taken by a pro, with a pro camera, in the pro area. The looks of fright on the horses faces is meaningless too. Ever notice photos of basketball players in action in the news paper? They can be pretty contorted and I'm sure guys get a kick out of seeing themselves look that way. Here is one way I would defend the steer roping. Down here there is no set of rules on how fat cattle need to be. And I have seen plenty of starved cattle that could barely walk into the sale ring. But you never hear the ara's complain about starving cattle. Horses you hear plenty of stories and see plenty of articles. So its okay to take a herd of fat steers and turn them out with nothing to eat and let them starve to death, but it's not okay to take a fat steer, rope and trip him.       - Yeah there was an article about that.It is partially true & false. It was worker from Starbucks who charged a $130 for 3 cases of water. Starbucks did not, in fact when they found out what one of their employees did, they reimbursed the ambulance company & apologized. Now granted that happened after press coverage, but heres something to think about. How is the corporate office supposed to know this even truely occured with complaints that lead to media coverage?
