Subject: Varmit, a couple of coaching questions.

We got our grand daughters ropes and a dummy calf head for Christmas and I've been helping them get started. Mostly up to this point just showing them how to build a loop and swing it and coil it up, things like that, just the basics.Like most kids I have to remind them not to pull their slack with their coils but that's a tough one for them to remember.
Is there anything they need to learn that helps make the figure eight after the loop is around the calf's neck? Is it pretty much a thing where they need to grow some and throw harder? One is 7 and the other is nearly 4 and I'd like for them not to take up bad habits from the beginning, but do understand it needs to be a fun thing at the same time.
Also, ain't there an approach to walking up on the dummy that they're suppose to learn?
The 7 year old is real coachable and I taught her to ride a pogo stick last week and by the next day she called me and had bounced 128 times without falling off. The day after that, she went over 300 times and now it's a matter of quitting when she gets tired.
