I take it this rodeo is inside the city limits? If it were out in the county the city council would not have had any jurisdiction over it? Correct or Not??..... Also will be kinda dissappointed that the roughstock riders and barrel racers do not stand up for the other events when the time comes and send a message to the Mayor. -- RODEO RAMBLINGS

The outcry was immediate, and by the end of the final perf the Cloverdale rodeo as we knew and loved it was no more. The CPRA declined to sanction Cloverdale's roughstock & barrels only format, so the committee has taken Calgary's lead and struck out on their own. The format is an invitational, 24 competitors in the 4 events (no timed events other than barrels), with a finals on the Monday. Payout is enormous, second only to Calgary.
