Then you better hope they don't go bankrupt between then and then..... they building a 40 house subdivision a mile and half down our road next to the elite golf course. Started with the big lake around the property and using the fill dirt for heightning the property. They quit last week and pulled all the equipment out. Was told the fuel costs of running all that heavy equipment over a 400 acre peice of property caused them to go bankrupt as they hadn't been able to sell any of the property until they got all the dirt lined out and road put in. -- RODEO RAMBLINGS

The bad part is that I have 80 steers that I've been fiddlin' with since the fall. They'll weigh 700 to 900 by the 4th of July and won't bring much more than that with the price of fats now. I'm not worried about it. Fats are bringing $.75 right now and that's about all these big plain cattle will bring. Feed lots are full now and emptying out. I can make a little feeding at this rate and I won't need the money until Fall. The subdivision near you won't go unfinished. Somebody else will come in and finish it after the guys that started it lost their butts. Actually, I'd guess that it was the bankers that lost the most on it. Are you still going to be running cattle when all of your neighbors are row houses on 150' X 150' lots? They are going to build a truck toll road paralell to Interstate 35. - We are still hangin in there. Suppose they will run us out one day. Things have really slowed here lateley. All kinds of sub divisions started with road going into them and they can't sell any acres. But most are 4 to 5 acre plots. Equestrian centers they call them.
