Again... I ENCOURAGE you to join our website and learn the basics of your way of life. The Prophet(saw) said, "I leave behind 2 things and if you stick to them you will never go astray and they are the book of Allah (Quran) and MY example (sunnah)." [Bukhari and muslim]
Islam is not based on the Fiqh of anyone other than Rasool and for you to ask a question about Islam and then say you want the answer to be based on someone othe the prophet(saw) is SHIRK.
At this website we do not follow the FIQH of anyone other than ALLAH and his PROPHET MUHAMMAD IBN ABDULLAH WHO WAS THE SEAL OF ALL PROPHETS. sO NEVER ask us to answer you about Islam based on anything other than Quran and Sunnah.
In regards to wiping over the socks when making wudu:
Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah reported that the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, made ablution and wiped over his socks and slippers. [This is related by Ahmad, at-Tahawi, Ibn Majah and at-Tirmizhi, who called it hassan sahih]
What Hanifah or anyone else has to say about it is NOT IMPORTANT.
