No , it is not sunnah to put up walls or screen between women and men in the mosque because the prophet ( PBUPH) did not do it. there was no partition at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Women ,men and boys used to pray together in the mosque according to the Islamic rules which is as follows: Imam stand s first, men stand behind Imam,boys stand behind men,then women stand behind boys. If making partition is must, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would tell us,and since he did not tell us or ordered us to make partition in the mosque, we can not say that we should do it, but men and women should behave islamicly as Allah said(Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allâh is All-Aware of what they do.) And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allâh to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful)24/30/31.
