Allah says in the Quran, the interpretation of the meaning, "Recite the words of Allah and Ponder its meaning..." What this means is whenever you recite the Quran you need to think about its meanings otherwise how can you get any benefit? Read the transliteration of the Quran in addition to reading it in arabic so you can thus get an Idea of what it is Allah is saying. And yes you get reward for reading the Quran in its original language. But you get benefit from knowing what it is that you are reading.
