Voor wat betreft de honden, de sahaba�s (metgezellen van de Profeet saw) doodde ze. De reden hiervan is dat Shaytaan en jinns de gedaante van honden aannemen.

Echter, dit stopte toen de Profeet (saw) zei, dat we niet wreed naar anderen moeten zijn en hierbij worden dieren inbegrepen. De Profeet (saw) vertelde de sahaba�s dat shaytaan en de jinn de gedaante van een zwarte hond zou aannemen en als je deze ziet, doodt het dan. (Bukhari en Muslim)
