The prophet(P B UP HIM),used if he starts to travel before Zuhr to delay it tell Asr time then he does both together,and if he starts travel after zuhr ,he used to do zuhr ans asr together before he leaves. About Fard (obligatory ) prayer,it should be done while you are standing unless you have a suitable excuse like you are sick,but extra prayer is ok to do it while you are sitting or riding. So in your case you should stop the car like in rest area and pray if you can do that,but if you could not do it because of reasonable and accepted reason in Shareaa,a ,like you are in a plane and you can not stand,or you are afraid that a wild animal or enemy may attack you ,then you can do it while sitting in the car. We can use Tayammom ( using dust instead of water),only if there is no water or if for some reason you can not use it because you are ill,or you can not reach it. Tayammom should be made with dust,no matter where this dust come from. And Allah Knows Best. Moustafa Morsy
