As Salaamu alaikum,

I was told by another Muslim that the usage of the word but and if when talking about the Quran or the Sunnah of the Prophet come from Shaytan. An example of that is I tell a sister that she should be wearing Hijab because Allah says so and she says Yes, I know but Allah knows my intention. I hope that I have explained that right??? I just wanted to know if there was Daleel on that.

Shukran,
Samaiyah

Alikom Assalaam
I think the other muslim who adviced you wanted to tell you about the hadeeth( saying of the prophet),when the prophet (S A W ) adviced us not say (IF)I did so and so ,so and so would not happened, because saying (IF) will open the work of SHAYTAN(satan).
The hadeeth was talking about if some thing happened to the person,he or she/ should not say(IF I did so and so ,this matter would not happened), because saying (if ) will not help, but only will hurt him more, but the person should say( Allah made taqdeer(Divine Pre-ordainmentsof all things before their their creations-as written in the book of decree)and He did what He wanted.).
Also if there is command or order from Allah or His messenger,we should reply by saying( SAMINA WA ATANA)we have heared and we have obeyed, and this what what Allah said in surat al Noor :The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allah and His messenger ,to judge between them is that they say ,"we hear and we obey"and such are the sccessfull.).
Allah Knows Best.
Moustafa Morsy.
