As Salaamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

If you correctly read my answer to the question about do we follow 4 Imams, I said there have been many good Imams and the best of all Imams were the sahabah.. Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, Uthman and the likes. No one who came after them were better than them.

As Muslims we follow no one blindly except Muhammad Ibn Abdullah who was the last Apostle of Allah who before he died said, "I leave behind 2 things for you to follow and those who do will never go astray.. and they are the Quran and my Sunnah."

We suggest that you focuss on the Sayings and Doings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw), and all writings concerning him to learn about your religion, instead of getting into the politics of Islam.

Allah says, "Obey me and my Prophet.." [Quran 4:59]

Allah also says, ""You have indeed in the Messenger of God a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in God and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of God." [Qur'an 33:21]

The best books you can read to learn how to follow and obey the Prophet(saw) are the Quran and the Hadiths. We recommend Sahih Al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim to you as a start. These books tell you how to live your life and be a Muslim from how to eat, drink, use the bathroom to how to Pray, how to raise the finger for salat, to how to bury the dead....

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
