As Salamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

The Prophet(saw) never said anything similar to what you have written.. in fact he says the oposite.

Anyone who introduces anything new into this religion will have it rejected ..[Bukhari and Muslim]

In regards to the statement of Umar, this was in regards to his going to the mosque and seeing the people making Qiyam together. The Prophet(saw) made Qiyam during ramadhan in congregation too on several occasions, so therefore doing this was not an innovation in islam. Remember, to innovate something in Islam means to add something new to the religion that the Prophet(saw) did not add.

When umar saw the people praying Qiyam in congregation as the prophet(saw) had done on several occasions, he simply said what a good thing this is.. he did not say this to say the people introduced something new to the religion because they had not.

I suggest you join the classes at the website to learn about your religion and ask your questions live.

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST

Laila Nasheeba
