Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatulah,

My question is: Is giving up in Islam haraam. For example, say you are doing a business plan, and you dont think it will ever work, and you just give up on it, is that haraam? I was told loosing hope and giving up is haraam. Please provide me with some hadith regarding this matter. I would really appreciate it.

As Salaamu Alaikoum,

Business and religion are separate entities. As Muslims we never lose hope.. this applies to religion. We must have love for Allah, Fear of him and Hope that he will forgive our sins.

This does not apply to business. There is no hadith to add to this.. this is mere common sense.
