Ive not written in awhile. I have not had the time nor the inclination. I had to go back, and read what I had written last, for it had faded in my memory. It seemed that when I wrote that, it was a happy time. I am glad for it, and hope that Trevor recalls it in that way when he grows older.
How to catch things up. ..well, where my mind was, Ive no idea..to think that Keln and Khaless might actually meet and both not explode. I just..didnt expect Khaless to show up. To make a long story short, they went for one anothers throats, and put Trevor at risk. If Keln had not spotted me in the village, I'd have left alone then.
He offered a safe place for Trevor, and fool that I was, I accepted. He led me to the old castle that sits west of Rhy'Din, and there introduced me to the mage Balpho. I believe we took an instant dislike to one another, but he seemed genuinely fond of Trevor.
When he secreted me away from Keln, and gave me an out, I took it. The path here was clear for me, and cloaked for some time, I believe my trail is dead cold. Balpho knew it, and so did I, that Keln and I had to seperate. I have no words for how much I miss him.
It was difficult to come here to the cabin, at first. Memories plagued me for days.
I have come to feel a peace here now though, a peace I have rarely felt anywhere else. Trevor took to the place right away, and I suppose we had been here a couple of weeks when Ciro showed up.
I think that is the closest my heart has come to stopping completely since I watched Yars run him through.
The bastard is still as handsome as he ever was..dark as leather and just as smart mouthed. There was a difference though..and I noticed it right away. He was regal.
He has finally taken the first steps to claiming what is his, and more importantly, he has come to want it. I am glad, and I know he will shoulder his reign well. I have always known it.
Talk between us was of old..the match made in hell so to speak, and he knew, as I did, that I would accept.
My son will have his name, his security and someday his throne.
The wait is long, and may be all for naught, but Ive nothing to lose, and everything to gain. The alternative is not all that attractive.
~C~
