Dave, I think you are close here on several different fronts: "Perhaps the reason more people are not successful is the difficulty of obtaining continuing instruction in NG." My points:

1) $350 is an OUTRAGEOUS sum of money for any novice school.
2) Learning is best done by an instructor, not by books or tapes ("media") BUT media is VERY helpful for REINFORCEMENT of a skill or set of skills.
3) Without NG Corp. (or this forum or the NG forum) the average golfer may never hear of an NGCI! (With apologies to Kirk.)

So, what is the answer? I think the "hook" Remington is talking about could take place on two fronts:

1) NGCI "Group Learning" - 4-6 people in a 1-2 hour session that costs $20-$40. (I would need a full marketing study to set price points, find out about group size comfort, and get NGCI feasability input). Sets the "hook" as it allows people to experience NG, and how it can CLEARLY improve their game.)
*Advantages:
-Gets people talking about NG and trying the system
-NGCI makes money that would otherwise "fall through cracks"
-OPPORTUNITY TO SELL books and videos (maybe an impulse club sale, too!)

2) NG Seminar/Road Show - Bring out sets of the NG clubs and put on seminars ("Gentle Giant" golf clubs does this). For $50 you introduce NG in a classroom setting, and give a "free" NG 9 iron (I would prefer a wedge) for attending. (Giant Golf did this in my area for $30, and gave away a "free lob wedge" for sitting through a one hour combination instruction/infomercial. I SWEAR, that conservatively, 5% of the 300 attendees BOUGHT A SET OF CLUBS ON THE SPOT!) Maybe all you do in the seminar is introduce the "Natural Palm Grip," but with us that discussion can last for hours and hours, right? Again, an opportunity to sell the goodies to an audience that if nothing else, could probably use the 9 iron.

It takes a little work, but it takes hold better at the grass roots level than it does by selling media out of a warehouse...
