Information, controversy; it's all mental copulation and mind provoking activity for those who care, or even dare, to have a mind at all. As many have said, "knowledge is power", and it's what we do with that power that ultimately determines the outcome. With news and information in America's corporate media being so dumbed-down, where we get an unending diet of Janet Jackson's boob, or Mel Gibson, and nothing about CIA drug trafficking in this country, to the FBI losing a court case to Darl Cherney and the estate of Judi Bari for blowing up Judi's car - almost killing her - without that sort of news, no one cares about the Patriot Acts (1 and 2), that's basically making what the FBI did to Judi Bari legal. So that sort of news should be told. Or how welfare cuts are hurting the poor, all the way to how globalization is hurting the planet. If this stuff was in front of our eyes twenty-four seven, especially in America, I seriously believe more people would care enough to get active to pro-active.

Luckily, thanks to the internet and grassroot efforts, we're getting more information. Some people tell me the reason why they don't vote is because, and they whine, "I don't know what you know." That's why I feel as though a voice who knows his or her stuff, and has evidence to back up his or her claims, is very important.

Also, during Christmas, I was told by a majority of my family that, "I have to work for a living, I can't do all the stuff you're doing." Well, I figured out an easy way to fight with minimal effort; Don't give chains and big Microsoft, AOL Time Warner, Wal-Mart mega corporations your money any more. You don't have to go to a protest or attend a bunch of boring meetings to fight corporate power. All you have to do as an individual, and it's so easy, is put your money where your mouth is and put it into independent businesses that keep the money in the community and don't support the chains. It starts with the individual and it's the easiest thing to turn other people onto, too. Ironically you can "fight the power" with your money. Turn the tables. And don't waste so much, so often. Writing or typing? When you think your finished with a piece of paper there's always the other side. It's easy. You know, there are so many tree's wasted on grocery lists.

You talk controversy to invoke or provoke in hopes people will get angry enough to do something. It happened to me. I used to be a whole hearted nationalist in my pre-teen years.

Hooked on information, with a dose of rebellion, worked for me.
