Subject: why didn't i kno?

i don't know why but i've been living with my grandma all my life cuz i guess my mom or dad couldn't take care of me so i lived with my grandma and i love it here. she let's me do what ever i want to. i mean she gave me a car for my 16th birthday as a early gift and have my own little guest house in the back of hers and she says as long as i don't have boy in there i could stay there and she wouldn't trip. i really love my grandma. i kno ya'll thinkin "mann she is lucky" but i never seen myself like that. i miss her now. she passed away a couple days ago and now i don't have anybody to stay with. i don't have anymore family. so that's what i thought.....

* i sat in my grandma's house cleanin out the house until there was a knock on the door.*

me: who is it?

Mv: peter.

me: oh come in.**peter was my grandma's friend and my lawyer.**

peter: hey

me: hi.

peter: i got some good news and some bad news.

me: okay give me the bad first.

peter: well kima, i talk to the IRS and they said that you can't keep the house.

me: well i knew that so what's the good news.

peter: well you could of if you didn't have any family but you do.

me:*i looked up* what you mean?

peter: you have family.

me: who?

peter: you have a brother.

me: a brother? what's his name?

peter: cornell.

me: cornell?

peter: yep. he live in St. Louis.

me: oh.**where he come from?** well what's going to happen?

peter: well i'm going to fly you out there so you can meet him.

me: when?

peter: tonight

me: why tonight?

peter: because he just found out about you and he really wants to meet you.

me: are you forreal?

peter: yep. just pack a couple of things and if you like him he said you can stay with him.

me: i'm not going to move in with just anybody.

peter: and why not?

me: what you mean why not? i don't kno him and he don't kno me. i guess he sees it as he get some kind of money just for lettin me stay there.

peter: kima just get ready.

me: fine.

* i got up and went into the back and pack. whe i got done peter took me to the airport.*

peter: well i kno your going to like him.

me: how you kno that?

peter: kima i knew you since you was a baby and you grew up around me.

me: ok ok i'll call you when i get there.

peter: you do that.

me:oh *we hug and i get on the airplane and i'm off the St. louis. i was really scared cuz i was going out of the bay and into the Lou. what was i going to do out there? i didn't kno anybody didn't have that much money and i didn't have my car so i could go anywhere. i slept almost the whole way. i woke up about an a half hour before we landed so i got up and brushed my teeth. when i got off the plane i seen a big group of gurls yelling and screamin. i looked and seen nelly. i knew i was going to see one of the St.lunatics but i didn't kno that soon. so i just watched as he sign body parts and papers and i was wounderin why was he the only one there. so i sat there for about three hours and he was still there. the gurls have then started to clear up and me and his eyes met. i waved and turned my head. then i looked and he was standin in front of me.

me: hey.

nelly: what's up.

me: nothing.

nelly: your mom or dad ain't here yet?

me: i don't have one of them.

nelly: you don't.

me: no and i don't want to talk about it.

nelly: well i don't have a dad.

me: oh ok.*i roll my eyes and go back to the book i was readin and i looked up again and he was still there.* why are you still here?

nelly: why are you so mean?

me: look i just lost my grandma and she was the only family i had until i found out today that i have a brother and he wants to meet me and i've been here for three hours and he still ain't here.

nelly: what's his name?

me: why?

nelly: i might kno him.

me: you ain't going to kno him.

nelly: i bet i do.

me: what's his name?

nelly: cornell.

me:*my eyes got all big.* how you kno?

nelly: because that's me.

me: are you forreal?

nelly: why would i lie? and if i wasn't why would i kno who you was waitin for?

me: i'm so sorry.

nelly: it's cooh. come give me a hug.

*i got up a gave him a hug as some gurl walked up to him.*

FV: i knew you was cheatin on me.

* we turn around and see this real pretty gurl standin there.*

nelly: how you kno i was here?

Fv: don't worry about that who is this?

nelly: this is my little sister kalimah.

me: hi. but you can call me kima.

Fv: *she just looked at me and rolled her eyes.* yeah you would say that. just to get out of you gettin caught up.

me: well i ain't tryin to be a b*tch but if he was caught up then i would be mad too right?

nelly: see.*then he walked over to her and hugged her* you kno i wouldn't cheat on you.

Fv: i'm sorwee(sorry)i just don't want to lose you.

nelly: your not.*they kiss.*

fv: well i'm dawn.

me:....
