+ Upon hearing the request for a mermaid story, the queen's already broad smile broadens even more. She had always been fascinated by mermaids, and read so many stories about them...that's where Leon got his fascination most likely. She sits up a little more, though her back remains rest comfortably against the satin sofa. She remains silent for just a moment as she thinks about a good story. Then finally she turns to Marie and nods, "Alright. A story about mermaids." She clears her throat, gives a smile and then begins, "Once upon a time, there lived a beautifull mermaid. She was the loveliest of all the creatures that lived upon the earth. Her hair was soft, like golden silk, and her fin was a beautiful mixture of blue and green. It would glisten in the sun, and most humans simply thought they were seeing jewels in the water. She was the king's daughter, all wanted to be her, all men wanted to marry her. But she was unhappy, she wanted something more. Her one desire was to be human, it wasn't like she didn't love the ocean, no, she loves the ocean, it was simply that she had seen a man, a handsome man, and she had fallen in love with him. They had talked once, but she only revealed her top, she didn't tell him of her tail. She knew what she had to do. The next time the man came, she would tell him, and then if he confessed his love for her, she could become human. And the man did come, and they talked, and she told him that she was a mermaid. He was surprised at first, but then, he found that he did love her, so much. And he told her this. They were so happy, she came out of the water and they were married. The lived so happily for years, haveing children and being together. But sometimes, she misses her ocean, her home, her memories. She misses the calmness of the water, and of the beauty you cannot find anywhere on Earth. Yet she knows she cannot return. +
