Bad news - Temple won and they are either NIT or auto NCAA bound.

Good news - Ole Miss lost, Fla. St. lost, Vandy is losing, Holy Cross won, and CMU won.

The magic number is up to 109.

65 (NCAA teams)
+ 40 (ASSUMING NIT teams)
_____
105
+ 10 (ineligble teams with an RPI better than 112)
_____
115
- 6 (NCAA auto bid teams having RPI worse than 112)
_____
109
+ ? ("skipped" teams having an RPI better than 112)
_____
???

Last year, the NIT skipped 6 teams. If that were to happen again the last NIT team would have an RPI of 115. As of Monday, the Titans were 112.

It would help to have:
Utah St. or UC-Irvine to win the Big West
Boston to win the American East tomorrow

We want no MAJOR upsets in ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Conf USA, MAC, Pac 10, SEC, and WAC. We want a team with an RPI of 112 or better to win each of these conference tournaments, which is possible and, in most cases, probable.

In the MAC, we want Kent or CMU (probably Kent for NIT
match-up reasons).
In the WAC, we want Hawaii, Tulsa, or Nevada
In C-USA, we want St. Louis, Louisville, or Memphis

As of today, I would put our chances of an NIT bid at VERY GOOD.
