Titan B,

I can appreciate the enthusiasm and I even encourage the possibility of a new message board. I however think that a more tactful approach could have been used for the creation of the board and the distribution of the information.

"I talked to TitanMike about this a while back and he seemed open to the idea. I wanted to run it by him first since he was kind enough to set up this board for us when Rivals went down 2 years ago". (Titan B)

This is a somewhat misleading statement. It was quite long ago when we chatted about this, since then, the only words spoken between us have been cordial hellos in the Titan Club. At the time that you and I spoke we discussed improving the website and what I was looking for, I am still interested in doing so. I don't believe though that this would be considered "running it by me first"

I have been telling everyone since the demise of Rivals.com that I could use any assistance at all with the site. I still encourage and welcome assistance. I also think that your message board is great, it is very similar to one that was used at the beginning of this website, but I had to take that one down due to some color scheme issues. At that time another Titan Fan had told me about voy.com and it's message boards, so I gave it a try.

I am not happy with how the Detroittitanhoops.com website has been this year; in fact I am a bit embarrassed. In 2002, my priorities were a bit different. Finding a new job, getting married, and planning for the birth of our first child outweighed even my unrivaled devotion to the Titans. Putting in late nights like I did when I had the rival’s site (sometimes until 2am) was not something I was able to do. I also paid a fee in order to have the naming rights to the site (out of my pocket of course). At one point I had a company quote a cost for improving the website, because I admittedly am not a techie. What I believe I provided before (rivals.com) was a reasonable journalistic approach to providing quality information on the Titans.
I think that what you did with a new message board is excellent. The approach you took obviously disturbed me. It would be as if a friend of yours came into your house and put his feet up on your furniture, took your remote control, opened up the fridge and began drinking your beer, smoked your cigars, kissed your wife (maybe I am taking it a bit to far).

I hope you don't take this response as personally as I did when hearing of the new message board. Some of my words may be harsh and bitter, some with good reason and maybe some not.

I am going to add your board as the New Titan message board. I would however appreciate you contacting me via phone. I would like to discuss some options for making the Titan fan experience as best as can be. If you don't have my #, I will be providing it to you under a separate email.

For those fans who have said that they would offer support and have not, I would appreciate you sticking to your words. For as upset as I am/was at Titan B, I applaud him for his effort and enthusiasm.
