The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago have a prenatal exhibit of real preserved fetuses. I would LOVE* to go see it. I wish i wasn't quite so far away. Has anyone here been to see them in person? How incredible to be able to view real fetuses at varying stages of gestation to be able to fully understand the scale of their size and development especially when you're pregnant.Fascinating.

the body worlds exhibit is very similar - it is at the Minneapolis Science Center now and is traveling the country. they preserved a fetus at several stages of development - i was amazed at how perfectly formed they are even at 8 weeks - they are babies, just miniature.

I wish there was something like that over here i am utterly fascinated by embryos and fetus perfect miniture form. It truely is miraculous. If i had my time over i would have been an embryologist or a pernitalologist i'd never get bored of it.
I think my baby must be a fair size by now but i'm not showing a whole lot, all the books say the baby is about 13cm long but it's still tiny isn't it? I just don't take things for granted like i used to. I now realise how fragile this precious baby inside of me is. I am really looking forward to being alot bigger in the belly because that will mean my baby is bigger and healthy. I have my morphology scan in 4 days :)!

Yea, the whole thing is rather amazing. At 8 weeks they do look like a tiny baby, but the proportions are different.

I think I would really like being a doula sometime. Not sure how I'd accomplish that in my current situation, though. LOL Either that or a concert photographer. ;)
I think being a perinatologist would be great, although probably difficult at times.
