Hi. My name is Jessica and i just had a baby in July of 2006. I'm scared I might be pregnant again because my boyfriend and I aren't using any birth controls. I had a period in the beginning of Dec. 2006 but this wasn't normal. Now 2 weeks after I had an irregular period, I'm spotting. Can someone please help me. I'm scared.

Hi Jessica,

It is normal to feel a little scared, but you can think past all of the fear. The best way to overcome the fear is simply to get answers and plan from there.

As far as your periods go, I would recommend that you go ahead and take a pregnancy test and see what the results are and go from there. If the test is negative and you really feel something is not right with your menstrual cycles, you might want to be seen by a doc just to rule out any problems.

It's possible that you are pregnant but the only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test if taken from 10 days of your last unprotected sex (at a minimum i would retest in a couple of days to be sure) you should get an answer either way. Spotting doesn't allways spell pregnancy, womens cycles can fluctuatenaturally and spotting can occur during ovulation or for a number of other reasons. Also some medications can affect your periods as can stress.H?aving said all of that if youre having unproected sex it's important to rule out pregnancy so my advice is to go take a test.
