Hi Emma,

This is terrible! I'm so sorry to hear this! I agree with Pat, you need to tell someone about this. We can't save Pixey, but somehow we need to help prevent this from happening to other young ladies. Please tell someone about this. He should be held accountable for this.

Some of you may know me, I'm a peer counselor and I drop in here sometimes to offer support and my advice. Well also, I'm a person who's struggles with depression and have survived two suicide attempts, but am now on the road to recovery. It absolutly broke my heart to hear of this young lady taking her own life in grief and I do offer my deepest sympathies to Emma. I just wish that Pixie would of been able to reach out and get professional help. To others who may be reading this, all though it may all seem overwhelming right now, there is hope and healing from abuse and the grief of loosing a child. Please don't keep it a secret any longer, you are not to blame for what's happening to you, the only person acccountable is your abuser. Please seek professional help!

Emma, I agree with the others. Although Pixie may have been afraid to speak up, you can make a difference. This man should be brought to justice for what he did and put Pixie through, no woman should have to suffer from abuse in silence. Also, the others have made a good suggestion, creating a memorial for her and her baby. Also another idea would be to donate to an advocacy charity that helps victims of sexual assualt/rape and participating in a "Take Back the Night" memorial service for rape suriviors. This gives victims like Pixie a voice and fights the stigma of abuse. But right now, my thoughts will be with you during this time of grief.

Emma,
Looking back, I realized that I confused Pixie with another young lady, a victim of incest, and that's why the refrences to rape and "Take Back the Night" Still, I do think this man taking advantage of a young teen is wrong, consensual or not.
I recommend confiding in her doctor for now and seeing what s/he has to say, but it's up to you. I'm just thinking that her parents need time to process their grief for their daughter's death before hearing about the issues with the boyfriend. If it's any reassurance, usually miscarriages which occur early in pregnancy, do so because the embryo is not compatible with life, it's nothing the mother did or didn't do. My thoughts go with you.
