^The eyes become a brilliant shade of neon green now, eminating trouble^

My line of work, you ask? I, dear Celeste, am a thief.

^Before she can become alarmed, he holds up one finger, asking for her cooperation^

I don't steal from wizards though. Too easy to track, and using magic is cheating anyways. But my skills are good for a bit of fun. For instance...

^A graceful hand rises, holding the golden bracelet that had previously resided upon the femme's wrist^

She smiled, he would so openly admit that he was a thief would he? Celeste just shook her head laughing as he held up her golden bracelet.

I didn't even feel you do that!

Her voice exclaimed.

But I have a line of work to, per say, I am a deceiver. Of course, I'm not as good at what I do, as you are at what you do. How did oyu learn-why did you learn to do that?

She asked, holding out her hand for her bracelet.

^Dropping it in her outstretched hand, the male grins wider yet^

That's the point. If you'd felt it, I wouldn't be a very good thief. I'm one because if I wasn't, I'd starve. It's a living, shall we say.

^A russet brow furrows in perplexion at her statement of occupation^

A deciever?

She smiled as she slipped the bracelet back on her wrist.

What? Starve? You don't like the school food?

She questioned confused, amybe he ment when he was out of school. As he questioned her 'occupation' she kind of laughed.

MMM A liar to be more exact, sometimes, when I have to. or to get my parents attention, they ignore me mostly.

^Laughs again, his voice ringing like the ring of rain on trees^

Not while in school. But during the summer, and before I came here, it was steal or die sort of thing. It helps me do other things, though. Ever been to Paris? London? China? The Bahamas? Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, India, you name it, I've been there. How?

^A rubber ball appears again and rolls rhythmically around his wrist, seemingly without any assistance^

It's all in the wrist.

-- Celeste Riecburg, 16:17:09 05/12/02 Sun

His laughter warmed her. She set her books on the table beside her and smiled.

Don't you have a family?

She asked almost concerned, Celeste knew nothing of poverty.

And wow, so many places, I've not seen any of them! Maybe in the Summer you could come to my house, I doubt you'd starve there, and maybe we could go somewhere.

She said jokingly, but in her mind she was really starting to like the idea, her parents were so wrapped up with themsewlves they wouldn't even notice.

I mean...you know if you wanted too.

Careful Celeste! Remember Julian? Don't let it be that way again, don't let something happen instantly without consideration, don't fall after a few words. Don't be off guard for pain again.

Despite the inner monologue she smiled,

You know if you don't have a family that would think you were kidnapped.

^Shaking his head, the mahogany hair falls from its tail at the nape of his neck and with a mild swear word he fixes it, eyes momentarily pale with annoyance. As soon as it is once again in its place he smiles again, the brilliant jade replacing the pale^

Life is my family, Celeste. Life is my family, Adrian my friend, and together we own the world. As tempting as your offer is, I can't. It's too hard to stayed tied down to one place, too hard to remain in one place, however prosperous, when there's places I haven't visited, people I haven't seen. And, in any case, I haven't even been near starving since I was seven.

Her smile flickered as he refused, but, in the end, remained.

Well if you change your mind, maybe for a week or so, you know? I don't do anything but make trouble around the house and wait for school to start again, so you wouldn't imposing.

She looked into the jade green eyes, why did they have to be so beautiful? His eyes were very beautiful. If Julian could have seen her now, he'd know that familiar look of admiration, and he'd probably only shake his head.

^He shrugs, lithe shoulders the only part of him to be in motion. The ball begins darting in and out of fingers, despite being larger than the gaps between digits^

I'll try and drop in for a day or so, but I can't promise anything. Adrian and I decide on things as they happen, and aren't likely to be tied to any appointment except for September 1st.

-- Adrian Smallwood

The resident imp almost seemed to slither with a stealth not many knew was an arcane talent of his to the posterior side of his chestnut tressed confidant, peering over his should with obvious gambol in his warm, brown eyes. The fuscous tinged optics followed the motions of the scanty ball relentlessly, patience his key as he contrived a plan to extricate it from his friend's coordinated fingers. However, a sudden fatigue betided him and, slightly baffled as to his sudden diziness although it camaflouged itself into not being perceptible by a stranger such as the female, he plopped down quickly and almost thoughtlessly with recklessness upon an exquisitely hand crafted chair. A purplish bruise began forming on the gregarious, attrahent's gamin's forearm, but it was disregarded. With casual nonchalance, his soft gaze flickered to both of them and with tact, he spoke. "Griff." An acute angle of his chin upward signified his acknowledgement to the veritably trusted male, and he performed the same sort of greeting to his [Griffon's] new acquaintance.

Celeste smiled,

You do that.

She paused,

Does Adrian live with you?

But it seemed he had approached, and gave her a 'heads up' kind of glance.

Hi Adrian.

She said.
