You're quite a foreign film officianado. I haven't seen most of those. One film I thought of after I posted is The Red Balloon. Not much, if any, foreign dialog but still a foreign film! If you haven't seen Z maybe you can try to catch it. I think it was the only foreign language film until Life is Beautiful to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

I don't really think of British or Aussie films as foreign but there's a great Aussie mini series called A Town Like Alice. The 400 Blows was good and Small Change by Truffaut. And I loved him in Close Encounters! :-)
I haven't seen as much Kurosawa as I should. I saw Roshomon and was disappointed in it.

Bergman's films are kind of depressing and moody for me. I've seen some of Fanny and Alexander though.
I saw 8 and a Half but in a very strange way. It was shown in a film class I took in college and they had it split into three reels. They accidentally showed the reels in the wrong order! Talk about being confused! La Strada is a pretty good one too.

Citizen Kane is a great film. It's not my favorite but I don't disagree with it being considered the greatest by many film historians. The Third Man is another good Orson Wells film. I agreed with Some Like it Hot being the number one comedy. I guess I must have seen those other AFI additions, at least in part. I wonder what other category they could do.

Did you see my desert island question on Off Topic? I'd like to see what your choices would be!
