Just curious. And just kidding.

Maybe Scully was so obnoxious about wanting to close the case and get home because, well, they *were* in Iowa. There's not a whole heck of a lot to do in Iowa. In fact, they'd probably done all there was to do in Sioux City.

The scene with the boy pointing to the television and the subsequent discovery that his zeroes and ones were a random collection of things also reminded me of later episodes. If that was planned, then WOW!

I've always assumed that the boy (who must have been raised on a bee farm in Canada) was receiving transmissions that were picked up by that big, huge, honkin' satellite dish in the front yard. I also suspect it was a nod to the movie Poltergeist.
