I wouldn't make too much out of them being paired up on cases. I don't think they're going for anything romantic. That thing he said about her being beautiful was very strange and out of the blue. I wasn't sure what to make of it. But I was thinking, did you see the episode before that where Sarah wanted to take a leave of absence? Grissom was floored by her decision which stemmed from his not paying enough attention to her personal feelings. He's so engrossed in his bugs and casework that he misses what's happening around him.
It was in no way romantic though. Only her feelings regarding how he treated her as his employee. At the end of the ep Katherine was over at his place talking to him about how he needs to open up more. So Grissom ordered some flowers for Sarah. Again, NO romantic tones. Just the idea that he needs to be less impersonal and more caring. So maybe the next ep was just his way of mending things with her.

If anybody's going to get together I think the most interesting combo would be Katherine and Warrick. But I hope no one does. I like the show just the way it is. But I can see it happening in a few years when the ratings start to slip, having two of them have a "thing". It would probably be a one time only 'I didn't expect that to happen and we can't let it interfere with our work' type of deal.

I think another reason that Grissom has been working with Sarah lately is that he and Katherine are the two leads so they may be separating them in the storylines because they are the two most popular characters so it covers the whole show. That's just a guess. If you guys want to talk about CSI each week I'd love to. We could have a thread going on OT.

On the other topic, I do think Sean Connery is very handsome but these spring-winter relationships in movies bug me too. I think I read somewhere that Harrison Ford insists on actresses being younger than him. But then the writer of the Jack Ryan books objected to his being cast in that role because he felt he was too old.

I think Michelle Pfieffer looks great. Good for her being an older working actress. (Old by Hollywood's standards, that is.) She's had two big movies out recently (What Lies Beneath and I Am Sam) so I think she's doing fine. But it's hard for most older actresses and actors too. That's why many of them (Richard Dreyfuss, Sally Field etc.) are doing tv series now. They are still popular and can draw an audience but movie execs are too obsessed with teen movies so they can't find as many good roles in that medium.
