Spiritual Notebook 2

These statements should be written in a 180 page spiral notebook (leave a blank line between statements – write on both sides of a page). This should leave many more pages free for more statements to be written in that notebook as you continue reading, learning, and developing as you go through life.

Having a notebook with vital statements and important Scriptures written in it can give you an effective way to keep your mind refreshed and occupied as you look at it repeatedly throughout the day.

--------------------------=

What makes the difference? Doesn't it depend on how close we are walking to the Lord and how much the Holy Spirit is guiding us? If we are full of God and His Word, God can bring the right words out of us.

Just when we think we have it all together and we feel good about ourselves, God sets out to do His own work in us and even to take some things apart.

God may need to undo us before He can reshape us.

We need to put self on the cross and crucify our sinful desires.
- This is a daily experience.

Moving forward takes energy.

Admit to the Heavenly Father that you are weak. The moment that you are honest with the Heavenly Father it opens the door to change.

--------------------------------=

Paul believed that God had rigged the game in his favor. If this is true, then a gritty kind of joy is always possible.

If joy means trusting God, then we are free to do our best.
- we are free to relax into God, to take risks without fearing Heaven and hell always hang in the balance.

This also mean we're free to succeed or fail in all things. With our Heavenly Father's love secure, regardless of what we accomplish, we have nothing to lose.

Gratitude refreshes our relationship with the Lord.
- The best time for thanksgiving is when we're feeling the least appreciative. That's when we need it the most.'

Gratitude motivates us to look for the Lord's purposes in everything in our lives.

-----------------------------------=

If you really care about your happiness, you will devote yourself to the infinite joy found in God.

Consider which course of action will lead to your greatest long-term happiness - and take it.

Every day is a fresh start and another chance for our indwelling God to help us smile and laugh.

When a person wakes up with something to accomplish, he or she experiences more of the joy life has to offer.

A person must examine what convictions are guiding his or her behavior.

Awareness of His presence changes everything.
- We're more conscious of the good things God sends us when aware of His presence.

-----------------------=

The life of a christian shows the world that the Heavenly Father gives true joy.

A day hemmed in by prayer is hard to come unraveled.

In Christ Jesus, you will be able to sing:

"This joy I have, the world didn't give it to me.

The world didn't give it to me and the world can't take it away."

Your commitments will develop you.

Your commitments will define you.

Every choice has consequences - so we need to choose wisely.

What do your commitments say about you?

25 years from now, what will I wish I had done today?

----------------------------------=

Successful people are creatures of habit.

Take control of your habits now
- abandon bad habits
- adopt profitable habits.

You have to take a realistic look at yourself to know where your habits are taking you.

Our best days are not the days when everything goes smoothly.
- It is good for us to be challenged on days in ways that reveal issues to be confronted and dealt with.
- apologizing, making corrections with deeper insight and awareness.

In the valley experiences, the Heavenly Father is probably setting us up for something good.

If you want to thrive you must see yourself as a "solution" and not a "need."

-----------------------------------=

Work with faith with the little bit that you have.
- be thankful for the little that you have.

It's healthy to be honest with the Heavenly Father about our feelings, but you have to eventually change your perspective.

Get ready for a surprise.

Wait. Trust. Pray. Obey. That is God's prescription for handling closed doors.

A christian must see Jesus in every circumstance.

We have to learn to draw from Jesus.

Every time we go off track, we must come back and trust and reaffirm and draw from Jesus Christ by faith.
-This has to be done over and over in our lifetime.

-------------------------=

Patience is needed to receive a blessing.

Patience is delayed gratification.

Instead of expecting a quick deliverance from some some situations, the Heavenly Father teaches us how to survive through some situations so we can eventually come out with more joy, strength and power.

You have to learn to be satisfied with how God chooses to answer your prayers even though it might not have been the answer you wanted.
- Paul with the thorn.

Sometimes a christian has to go deeper to understand why things are not working.

There is some treasure in your trials.

-----------------------------=

The Lord has a master strategy that is shaping your life.

Praise the Heavenly Father for the frosts.

The Heavenly Father grows us with hard frosts.

Look for something beautiful in everything God allows in your life.

View trials and temptations as situations for growth.
- trust more

More and more make decisions influenced by the Heavenly Father and Jesus.

Saints don't become better and better but they instead become ever more sensitive to their dependence upon the Lord.

Our desire to obey God intensifies.

--------------------------------------=

The Heavenly Father may be orchestrating our challenging circumstances
- to build our faith
- to remind us that He is the true source of strength

Stand your ground and stay focused on the Lord.
- You'll be amazed at what the Heavenly Father will achieve.

When we focus on Jesus, we become more like Him.

Psalms 91:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God: in Him will I trust.

Ephesians 2:18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Can men tell that you love Jesus?

-------------------------------=

Choose joy over unhappiness.
-refuse to confront any problem without seeing God in it.

It is helpful to constantly have a prayerful attitude.

Let us all be abounding in the work of the Lord.

We need to stop and consider: How much am I being distracted from giving God the first place in my life?

Studying or considering our answers and being slow to speak will certainly help us avoid regrets later.

Be quick to express encouragement and appreciation.

God has provided us with His grace so that we may demonstrate the wonder of His power. In this way we can experience God even in our trials.

-------------------------------------=

Courage will be tested usually in deceitfully small matters.
- like not chuckling at a humorous but inappropriate story.

Courage will be tested in unexpected ways like witnessing for Jesus.

We can begin to prepare ourselves for the demands of courage by committing our day to God Who already knows every situation we will face.

The mind of Christ is a humble and lowly mind. Servant.

We must not only read the Bible and pray but also listen for what God says.

We need to be honest with ourselves as we consider our loyalty to Christ and His Word.

How is the garden of our hearts?
- Love seeks the good of others and is eager to serve.

-------------------------------------------=

A pure heart is a wonderful garden that glorifies Christ.

Because of our nature we have a tendency to depart from Jesus' pastures.

An appetite for spiritual things needs to be nurtured and exercised.

Jesus wants to hear love messages from our innermost being.

All Christians need to depend on God's merciful provision of His own free Spirit to uphold us.

We need a relationship of love with the One Who can help us to stand.

Is our heart overflowing with praise to God for our deliverance?

True prayer is the outpouring of the heart.

Sin is something to flee from.

Remember the rewards promised for overcomers.

------------------------=

To have our strength renewed, we must learn to wait on God. As we focus our hearts and minds on the living God through prayer and reading His Word, true spiritual strength will become a blessed reality.

True repentance means confessing sin and getting rid of it.

Our lives are not our own, but have been loaned to us for the purpose of glorifying God.

Pray that God will open our eyes anew to His Word.

Proper vision will cause us to move ahead in faith even when the odds seem against us.

Let us carefully consider what our vision is focused on.

The sacrifice of righteousness is to do what is right even though it costs me something that I value highly.
