Subject: Mardi Gras

Yesterday was Mardi Gras and there was a pretty big party in San Diego. It is no New Orleans, but quite entertaining none the less. The reason I bring this up is because I remember the time I went to Mardi Gras in New Orleans and had to skip a few of Mahar's classes to pull it off. In fact, I recall calling him from a pay phone on Bourbon Street one morning and telling him that I wasn't feeling well. Which is true, but somewhat misleading. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to tell him that I had a nasty hangover. He asked me what was wrong and I told him that I didn't want to say because it was embarrasing, but that I was drinking a lot of the pink stuff. I believe they called it a So Co Brandy. Sorry Jim. You only live once, right?
This message is not intended to encourage any present or future students to try the same thing. In fact I highly discourage it. But, JazzFest is coming up in April, and it's supposed to be a pretty good time.
