I admit that I possibly misunderstood your patrols. It's just that when we see you walking we notice that you are looking at everyone's garage area, grounds, parking...etc. Now being the liaison to the Landscape & Architect Committee does explain some of this so I do apologize for jumping to conclusions.

Regarding this portion of your post, "...since you had left it open many times for long periods...", this is over-exaggerated. Yes there have been a few times that the door was left open on accident but not "many". We have kids and they know the rules. We remind them to close the garage door after they get their bikes out but you see sometimes kids will be kids. On the occasions that they have left it open, we implement our "points policy" on them. Whenever they break a rule, don't due what they are told, argue...etc they then lose 5% points. Thats 5% off their weekly allowance. So if one of them does 4 things wrong during the week they lose 20% points meaning they only get 80% of their cash. This works great and I bet you can tell by the fact that the garage door is never open for more than a few minutes these days :) Of course it will happen again, garage door being left open, in the future but we are aware of the rules and so are the kids and we all do our best. Mistakes happen. This was my point in the original message I submitted. Every time a mistake happens we don't need a copy of the rules thrust in our faces. I received a few emails after I posted that message from members of our community and all agreed with my points. I did not receive one email disagreeing with me so that tells me that there might be a better way of informing us of rule infractions or better yet prioritizing.

We do sweep our garage area and we have noticed there have been a few times that someone did it for us...yes we knew it was you :) but we also realized that in each instance it was a day or two after a very gusty day/night. So we do apologize for not getting to it sooner. Our garage area is your front door area and I admit that we need to do a better job in that area.

"..or stop by and have a glass of wine or cup of coffee on my deck!" How about ice tea? Neither of us drink alcohol or coffee (an occasional Starbucks doesn't count) but tea is always good.

Since I recently gained custody of my daughters our lives have become increasingly busy and stressed due to us all adjusting and so if my original post came across as hostile then I sincerely apologize. I should only be allowed to type after a good nights rest...now if I could only remember what that is.

By the way I record the up's & down's of this change in our lives, my girls coming to live with us that is, on my web log (blog) at www.mackclub.net and all are welcomed to check it out.

Take care.
