Subject: USS Darke (APA 159)

 My father served on the USS Darke in 1945 and he was on the beaches of iwo jima and okinawa. It looks like WSK Trapnell was his Commander. He also was authorized to wear the insignia of the Amphibious Froces. His name is Frank Vincen Norton, he went by Vince a lot. He was in the Beach Battalion D Amphibious Training Base in Oceanside California, anyone having information aoubt him or photos of the crews, it would be nice to see all his plaques and books where lost. Thank you
