 Royal Naval Colledge was used as headquarters for Amphibous Repair Base
The unit was formed in Oct 1943 we were stationed at Lido Beach Hotel,L.I.NY
Traveled to Scotland on the Queen Mary 4days and 18hours
Arrived in Dartmouth Nov 1943
Left Dartmouth June 1945
Main base was used to repair landing craft and treat wonded at base hospital
German planes passed over Dartmouth nightly Black out every nite
Harbor very close to English Channel English patrol left every night to patrol
the channel.
