--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I hear your footsteps,
I am relieved to see
The complete disappearance
Of someone's fading shadow.
He always had my family standing
On needles and pins!
He never stopped blaming my innocent babies
For all of his countless sins!
He always forced me to lie down
In the ruins of the dreams
That I once had to have a family!
In my face, he always screamed!
You have given me your hand, and led me to the canyons of your mind.
Together, we have cleansed each other's suffering.
You have kept my babies' bad dreams away,
And led us to a place where we all, as one, could stay.
In our shelter from cold evil,
Your voice softly sings me to sleep.
Beside you, I feel so restful and dreamy, with no need to weep.

DEDICATION: This poem was (once again) inspired by Cally Highfield. Inspiration also came from the music of Savage Garden/Darren Hayes.

In this poem, Clarisse and her three kids Sophie, Nigel, and Trini have found their Heaven on Earth in Darren. Darren has helped his new family to rise above their "ditch in the road," which was Clive, of course.
