Subject: Habits are Hard to Break

Celes watched Kier hop over to Kieran after being scratched. "You know," Celes commented dryly as she watched Kier, "if you do that, you'll never be able to shake him off." Kier paused in his train of whistles and trills to glare at Celes. "I made the mistake of actually feeding him." Kier didn't bother to acknowledge that. He nudged Kieran's hand, telling the boy that he didn't need to listen to Celes. After all, it was obvious that he, Kier, was the one in charge. Celes rolled her eyes slightly. Even if she was slightly off-balance around Kieran, she would never be tongue-tied around Kier. Actually, it would be a miracle of somesorts if the blue didn't put anyone at ease. Celes fought off a flush as she realized she was being (almost) as rude as Kier. "Kier." Celes murmured to the blue. "How about you share some of the food? Kieran's probably hungry too." Celes glanced up at Kieran. "In my family, my brothers were always hungry." Celes said, hesitating slightly before adding another comment. "I don't eat much breakfast. Never have, never will. I usually had too much to do." Her family was sort of a tender subject at this time. How far could she go before downright lying? During the time when she still was Celeste, she had encountered enough lies to last her three lifetimes. And Kieran was nice. He didn't deserve to be lied to. And, she reasoned mentally, she usually was busy in the morning... she didn't really have much time to eat. Kier shuffled slightly and nudged the tray towards Kieran. There were still a few rolls, but almost no meat.
Boys. Celes murmured mentally, giving her head the tiniest shake. Kier had eaten more then her, for Faranth's sake! Kier obviously didn't notice his owner (or, more accurately, the one he owned) and settled down to grab the last scraps of meat.
"I Impressed Kier and his brothers accidently." Celes told Kieran, remembering that they had been having a type of conversation. "Then I was Searched.." Celes carressed Kier's blue head as she remembered the moment. "Kessinth clutched. Had you heard? Jelonna, the Headwoman, told me." Celes glanced towards the Headwoman. "Jelonna, this is Kieran." Celes knew that the introduction probably wasn't neccessary, but even she couldn't break Turns worth of habits.
