In answer to your questions, I live in the northeast, in the U.S. I am an M.D. and I have donated several times before. I have only once donated to a Gentile (Non-Jew). The reason being she is a close friend whom I went through Medical School with. I have only donated naturally (and discreetly) to women who wanted my help.
I am currently not donating right now and I have no future plans to donate either. My situation is unique in that almost every woman that I helped was either a friend or an acquaintance in some form. They knew my home situation and they honestly just wanted to get pregnant. I have not had to worry about things 'getting back' or paying financial support.
To any who are thinking of getting pregnant or potential donors, I highly recommend going the a.i. only route. Obviously I myself have donated through n.i. however that was before you heard about all the legal wranglings in the courts. I am very fortunate that I stopped donating before my wife (whom I love very much) found out. Certainly that would have cost me my marriage and our children for sure. A.I. if done properly is considered extremely effective and does not carry as many potential legal ramifications as opposed to going with n.i. I wish you and your girlfriend the best of luck with a.i.

P.S.--It might have worked better if you left an email address and I could have responded to you directly. Also I am not really involved with this board I only responded to give someone else what I considered to be good advice.
