Good News - Kevin Maggs as HC. Congratulations on your appointment. It sounds like you impressed the board with your vision and passion for the club!

Bad News - BBC Sport reports Bevon Armitage has signed for Plymouth Albion. He's one player I really hoped we'd keep after the difference he made.

when playing against Mose! Gave some very good performances, but why move to a club that finished below us in the play-offs?

I can't blame the guy if he has family in plymouth. And who knows what terms and conditions Mose were offering in a new contract. I wish him the best of luck for his future but I am Very, Very sorry to see him go.

Was really pleased and impressed with what Armitage brought to our midfield - shame to see him go. Still, the prostect of working with a centre of such renown as our new HC should be draw regarding recuitment in this area.

I too was absolutely devastated by the news - I'd been holding my breath during the long period of silence.

To me, Bevan was a superb player for us, in defence blocking that hole that we had in the centre for the first half of the season and in attack crashing through and sucking in the opposition before passing out for someone else to take the glory.

I don't know where we're going to get someone of his quality.

Even worse, he's going to our main rival in the battle to keep out of Group C.

Let's hope he suffers from travel sickness when he comes back here!

Never mind, as others have said we've got some really important signing in the likes of Chevvy and Ollie.

While Bevon may have been offered a contract at Mose I'm not sure he was the complete real deal. He was very active when he got the ball but he rarely passed or created opportunities for those outside him or scored tries. With Maggs's background I would not be surprised if there are a couple of surprise packages joining who might provide a bit more than Bevon was able to do. Good luck to him in Plymouth though.

While I fully understand the difficulties of being away from family, particularly perhaps given Bevon's unfortunate experiences with his move to France, that's 2 moves in successuve seasons that have left a sour taste for the club he's left. Very unfortunate.
While his departure clearly leaves a big hole in our midfield (literally) I'm confident that Maggsy's cotacts and stature in the game will make it a tad easier to recruit in this particular area.

I'm not unduly worried. What Armitage did last season was plug a hole where we were weak. There will be others who will be able to do that and do a bit more as well. If Maggsie can not spot them then no one can! To me this creates an opportunity toget someone better.

What happened to him - does anyone know?

He looked quite promising.
