In reply to: CJB1 's message, "Source for this, please" on "Wed, May 25 2011, 12:58:20 GMT"

No pre season fixture has been arranged with Newcastle. The only one arranged so far is Aberavon away on August 20th as reported in Moseley Matters.

Unfortunately there have been a number of instances of abuse of, and on, this board recently including people posting items under the names of others.

This organisers of this board are therefore now looking at at alternative board where registration will be required.
They do not wish to stiffle legitimate debate or humour however false, malicious or deliberately misleading entries have no place here.

Have to say I've been of the opinion that we need a registered posters only forum for some time.
Is sports network a possibility? There are quite a few clubs who use this and it would make it easier for genuine friends from other clubs to share their thoughts with us as the the registration is common for all sportsnetwork boards.

A draft new board propotype has alrady been produced and this could have the capacity to contain a section where visitors can post messages. This is being considered at the present time. Also it is proposed to have a change over time frame from the old board of a month or so to allow people to familiarise themselves with the new board. This would be linked from the old one where postings could not then be permissable.

If anyone has any other suggestions about improvements or features for the new board, could you please email them to info@moseleyrugby.co.uk

If / when you set up a new message board please consider us oldies who were brought up using carrier pigeons. It has taken me a long time to work the current board but I do realise the need for some control - just think that you can teach me how to use it.

Many, many kind regards.

In this age of big brother electronics surely we can find out who is putting these duff messages on the club message board. Perhaps we could seek the help of the CIA ( seeing as President Obama is over here ) cos they found Bill Laden through tracing messages. We could even then send a hit squad in ( led by Stotty ) in a camoflarged number 76 Birmingham buzz then we could bash im - I presume its an im - over the ed wi Stotties truncheon and tell im to kindly go away.

99% of this board is well conducted good humoured debate. We are lucky not to get more stupid posts but until we do I think keep it as it is. Registration could kill this board.

PS I like the cyber bullying from Phil Hall LOL

If anyone does overstep the mark all they'd get is a polite very personal and private email from the board adminstrator. It seems that only those who have something to fear would want it to remain open. All names are only known to the administrator and would still be anonympus so anyone who could suffer because of expressing their views (eg parent with boy at an Academy who is unhappy with itas many are could be worried about repercussions against his boy)could still post under the registered system.

One big problem is people are writing messages on here and using other users names which is out of order especially when they are telling lies. I for one will be glad when you can register properly.

I'm afraid you could be showing your age again there me old mate. West Midlands Police have long since done away with the wooden stick so lovingly called a Truncheon. It's now an aircraft grade steel telescopic side handled baton.
