Subject: End of Season Scenarios

As we know, a win on Sunday will guarantee a Championship place next season. But if Worcester win promotion and Bees join Cov in Nat 1, there will be no local derby next season and the nearest away game will be Nottingham.

However, if Barking win their game in hand and go on to win Nat 1 in their first season, will they be ready and able to join The Championship ? If not, will the bottom placed club in Pool C retain it's place, thus making the play-offs redundant, or - worse - will there be a long, drawn-out decision process which prevents either club from starting preparations for next season ? Either way, let's hope we seal our fate on Sunday.

Adrian, I'm not sure that there are minimum requirements for entry to the Championship which could prevent promotion in the same way there are for the AP. There was talk of imposing some form of financial checks on clubs but I'm not sure if/when that is due to begin. Anyone know for definite?
As to the possibility of Barking declining promotion I think it unlikely as they'd be turning down c£300k. Even if they were uncertain of being very competative they might as well take the money and a season of beatings; especially given that there's always the chance to dodge relegation at the end of the season even if they'd lost every game in the league element.

I dont think there's any stipulations on grounds for The Championship and certainly Barking's set up is basic but hardly worse than many in that league. On the promotion issue Barking haven't lost all season which is quite an achievement in any league - likelihood is that they'll need to go the whole season unbeaten to secure promotion too as London Scottish have made the bonus points count better. May 7 is D-Day for both clubs, am tempted to drive over there and watch a battle royale when they meet again. Either club won't be necessarily a pushover in The Championship.
