He understood fear, a wild panic or a deep shock, driving him to limits beyond what was foreknown. He understood hate, and love, and anger. A fluke? A lure? It would break his heart to hurt another. No. Just a stallion, lone and proud, yet humble and tender, a king and peasant, father and a son... Everything he could be he would for her sake, for this one chance at what he ached for deep in his heart. All this said in one sweet, soft nicker....]
